Company Profile

CBAK Energy Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: CBAT) ("CBAK") is a leading manufacturer of lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries and a provider of innovative electric energy solutions. CBAK’s products are widely used in energy storage systems and light electric vehicles, including two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

Established as a trailblazer in the industry, CBAK became the first Chinese lithium-ion battery company listed on the U.S. capital market with its 2006 Nasdaq debut. The company operates three major production bases in Dalian, Nanjing, and Shangqiu. The Dalian facility delivers an annual production capacity of 1 GWh, while the Nanjing facility is projected to achieve a capacity of up to 27 GWh upon full construction and operation. To address increasing demand, CBAK expanded its operations in 2023 by leasing additional production lines and initiating manufacturing at its Shangqiu center. Furthermore, CBAK acquired the Shaoxing-based Hitrans facility for producing cathode materials and precursors for lithium-ion batteries. Notably, Hitrans operates independently of CBAK's core battery business.

CBAK specializes in producing a range of high-performance cylindrical LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries. Its Dalian facility manufactures Model 26650 LFP cells, Shangqiu produces Model 26700 LFP cells, and Nanjing focuses on large cylindrical Model 32140 LFP batteries. As an early innovator, CBAK, alongside A123, was among the first to develop and commercialize LFP lithium cells using its Model 26650 LFP cells in 2006. In 2021, CBAK introduced its Model 32140 cells, which have since become one of its flagship products.

Committed to advancing battery technology, CBAK continues to invest in research and development to expand its portfolio. The company is set to launch its latest innovations, including the 40135 and 46950 cylindrical cells, further solidifying its position as an industry leader.
